The main concern of transformation is to make today is better than yesterday, and tomorrow is a lot better than today. Good time management and planning is the key to success.

Pertamina EP President Director Salis S. Aprilian said it in his presentation as a guess speaker on a talkshow "How to be a Great Student and Reach Successful Career" in UPN Veteran University, Jogjakarta, Thursday (30/7).

On this occation, Salis gives several tips to the students on how to be great students in reaching a bright future and carreer.

Related with Pertamina EP transformation program, Salis explained that a planning method called “Post-it Management” or “5 for 8 Management” is implemented in Pertamina EP. Salis said that this approach is implemented by using the first five minutes of your time at the office to make a work plan for the next eight hours.

Furthermore, Salis explained that to be a successful person, one should maintain health and fitness, as well as performance and cooperation. Other than that, Salis stated that experience also plays an important role.  “If you are a fresh engineer, please try to take field assignments rather than administrative works,” he said.

“Working for Pertamina, a national oil and gas company, is working for our nation and country,” he said.
In accomplishing a task, Salis sugest that all office works should be done at the office and never bring it home. “Feel your job as a call, therefore work totally with integrity,” he stated.

In the second session, The General Manager of Medco E&P Fauzi Imron is presenting how to develop network starting from campus towards the future. “The fist filter of developing a career path is while you are at the entry point of work during the first year,” he said. 

Seminar and talkshow held by the Society of Petroleum Engineers UPN Veteran Jogjakarta Student Chapter is attended by students from ITB, UI, UPN Veteran Jogjakarta, and some university students from Balikpapan.

Present as guess speakers are Presiden Director of Pertamina EP Salis S Aprilian, General Manager of Medco E&P Fauzi Imron, and also the Tito Perdana from Sclumberger as the moderator. As part of the event, there is also a Seminar on “Prepare for the Future” with President Strategic Innovation Shell International Ltd, who is also the President of SPE International, DR Leo Roodhart as the speaker.
